The locals also said that there are some doctors and other staff who were posted here ten years ago but have not yet come to perform their duties as they are playing a dirty politics with the poor people of Gurez. The residents said that they have brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times we were told that salary has been withheld all the employees who were absent from their duties, but it is a completely false claim. “In case the government failed to redress their grievances, they will take streets against the government,” the locals threatened. Meanwhile, the present hospital staff later also went on a strike against the illegal absence of health staff in the hospital. "We will not be able to describe the trouble we are doing our duty here. There is a severe shortage of hospital staff as most of the staff here are either absent or not joining their duties, " they said. A letter sent by the current health staff to the BMO Gurez reads Despite various detachment and relieving orders issued by CMO Office Bandipora No employee has returned to their duties. “A good number of employees are absent, absconding and attached from last ten years.
